Where to eat in Myeongdong & Euljiro

Between the tourist crush of Myeongdong and the industrial alleys of Euljiro hides Seoul's densest cluster of single-dish masters: a kalguksu house so famous its name is the dish, a 1930s gomtang institution that serves two things and needs no menu, the city's benchmark Pyongyang naengmyeon at Woo Lae Oak, its Hamhung rival in Ojang-dong, and the soybean-noodle specialist of Jinju Hoegwan. This is where 'does one thing, has done it forever' is the neighborhood's entire personality — and where Seoul's business lunches have been eaten for a hundred years.
